Equipment Storage: Stormwater Compliance Photo Comparison
Compliant Condition

Storage Structure
This is an example of a structure that can be used to secure equipment and parts or equipment tooling from stormwater exposure.
Non-Compliant Condition

Equipment stored outside uncovered
Industrial and manufacturing equipment, machines, and machine parts commonly have debris and contaminants on their surfaces, including oils and other chemical residues. When stormwater comes in contact with this equipment these contaminants can be carried into the stormwater system and contaminate the environment. Equipment, machines, and machine parts should be stored inside a building, under a canopy structure, or securely covered with a tarp.

Equipment and Scrap Stored Outside
As with equipment and machine parts, scrap materials and parts commonly have debris and contaminants on their surfaces, including oils and other chemical residues. When stormwater comes in contact with this equipment these contaminants can be carried into the stormwater system and contaminate the environment. Equipment and scrap materials should be stored inside a building, under a canopy structure, or securely covered with a tarp.
